Despite most dining rooms being shuttered by the COVID-19 pandemic, many area restaurants still are offering Mother’s Day specials that can be ordered for takeout.
Casa Ristorante, which has five locations around Fort Wayne, has its full menu available for carryout, and a bonus gift for those who choose to partake of its Italian offerings.
Any of its pasta dishes can be ordered in a full or half-pan, according to Casa’s Director of Operations Tom Parisi. A half-pan will serve about 10 to 12 people, while a full pan will serve roughly 20 to 24 diners.
The eatery also will be offering its usual favorites of pasta salad, and its famed Casaburo salad (insalata casaburo). Parisi noted that Casa also will be giving a free $5 gift card to the restaurant will each order.
To order, just call the number of the Casa location you’d like to pick up your food from, according to Parisi, who noted that the holiday is usually one of his spot’s most frantic days of the year.
“Mother’s Day is (normally) our business’ busiest dine-in day of the year,” Parisi said, “so we look forward to serving everyone carry-out.”
In Woodburn, Bob’s Restaurant will be offering a Mother’s Day special, as well.
The eatery is offering what they’re calling a “Bundle Pack,” which should be enough to feed most families, according to restaurant owner Tiara Bremer. The first pack offers four rib-eye steaks, four baked potatoes, a tossed salad for four, and a 6-inch pie (either apple or cherry). The second pack includes chicken alfredo with broccoli for four eaters, with bread sticks, and the choice of a tossed salad, or a Caesar salad for four diners, plus an apple or cherry pie.
Bremer noted that orders for the Bundle Packs must be received by 8 p.m. = May 8 to get them for Mother’s Day. The restaurant, at 22031 Main St., in Woodburn, can be reached at 260-632-5233.
Olive Garden also is offering up a holiday special to treat mom.
The eatery, located at 315 W. Coliseum Blvd., in Fort Wayne, is selling a $40 Mother’s Day special that serves up to five people, and includes:
• One pan of cheese-stuffed shells
• One jumbo salad with a bottle of Olive Garden’s famous salad dressing
• 12 garlic bread sticks
• One large dipping sauce (a choice of Alfredo or marinara)
• Baking instructions for the entire dinner.
The restaurant also has beer and wine available for carryout. The holiday special can be ordered on its website, www.olivegarden.com, or by calling the restaurant at 260-482-7804.
Outback Steakhouse is getting in on the Mother’s Day action, too.
The eatery is offering a holiday special that includes a 6-ounce steak filet, a lobster tail, and two sides. Lobster tail can be added to any order – a la carte – for an additional $9.99, according to Outback’s front-of-the-house manager Sandra Gonzales.
Crab cakes can be added to any order, as well, for $5.99. And for those looking for the finest cut of beef, prime rib can be ordered in sizes from 8- to 16-ounce, with prices ranging from $24.99 to $29.99.
The restaurant also is giving away a $10 bonus gift card with the purchase of a $50 gift card. The restaurant can be reached at 260-459-9206.
Fine dining spot Joseph Decuis also is celebrating the holiday will some special offerings.
The Roanoke restaurant is offering a special Mother’s Day menu for four for $100, with:
• Green salad (picked from their own farm), with a champagne vinaigrette dressing
• Four of Grandma’s Old-Fashioned buttermilk biscuits
• 3D Farm Mangalitsa gravy
• A choice of entrée, including Spring Quiche or Breakfast Bake
• Sides, including Mangalitsa ham (glazed with maple syrup), potatoes O’Brien, Wagyu bacon, spinach, ricotta and potato.
• Four carrot-cake cupcakes with cream-cheese frosting.
The restaurant also is offering carryout diners the chance to get Mom some flowers – diners can add a nosegay bouquet from Lynlee’s Flower & Design for $25 to their carryout order.
