Citilink drivers this afternoon will share in a national tribute to transportation employees for working through the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Fort Wayne horn blasts will add to the American Public Transportation Association's tribute. The APTA asks other agencies to simultaneously sound two 1-second horn blasts from vehicles in service.

Citilink asked the public to help by thanking bus drivers for their service. The public can also support the effort by posting video or photos online with the hashtags #SoundTheHorn and #HeroesMovingHeroes.

Citilink drivers will beep the bus horns at Central Station, 121 W. Baker St., at 3:15 p.m.

Organizers also asked other agencies to participate in "Heroes Moving Heroes." The APTA said public transportation workers continue to work on the front lines of the pandemic.
