Adams Township Trustee’s Office at 1125 Hartzell St. in New Haven will be the site of games, music, prizes and free food Saturday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

According to Trustee Denita Washington, the Caring for Community through food, fun and education event will have a carnival atmosphere. The New Haven Fire Department will provide a water splash activity and members of GIRLS.Z Rock, Marathon Tech and a group of area high school athletes will help out with hula hoop, cakewalk, checkers and basketball games. Though things will be fun and the atmosphere light, the focus of the activity will be on education, primarily on financial, medical and physical health. Parkview Health is sponsoring the Ronald McDonald truck which will be offering immunizations for children getting ready to go to school. Brightpoint will be distributing information on their many energy assistance programs and the East Allen Career Center will have information on its career training programs that ready students for apprenticeship programs and jobs in local and area industry.

Members of the New Haven Power House Youth Center will be on hand to discuss the programs and activities of their organization. First Source Bank representatives will be assisting persons wishing to open savings and checking accounts. Enrollment in the Fort Wayne Literacy Program will also be available.

The New Haven Branch of the Allen County Public Library will be promoting its reading program and showing how to get a library card. Fort Wayne Housing Authority will be passing out information about affordable housing in the area.
