As the story of the past two years seems to go, the 2021 Fort Wayne Farm Show was canceled earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

But this year, the 2022 show is back and hosting 388 vendors with 1,092 booths. The 33rd annual show will occur Jan. 18-20 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

Admission is free, but there is a fee to park. The cost is $8 for the main lot, $12 for the preferred lot and $16 for buses or RVs. Cash, credit cards and debit cards are accepted, and this fee is valid for one entry.

Showtimes are as follows:

Jan. 18: 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Jan. 19: 9 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Jan. 20: 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The show will be comparable to previous years, but Tradexpos Show Director Dan Slowinski said there are always new exhibitors to visit. Some include Advanced Farm Supply, Indiana Soybean Alliance and Yoder Oil Inc.

“Every year, we have some new exhibitors, but as far as the show itself, it’s about the same,” Slowinski said. “Each year, Purdue puts on seminars, so those will be about new topics.”

The seminar topics are not released yet, but Slowinski said speakers from all over the country have previously lectured.

“They have different speakers every year,” Slowinski said.

In support of local FFA chapters, the Indiana FFA Scholarship Foundation Auction will occur at 1 p.m. on the first two days of the show.

Slowinski explained how the auction works.

“The auction will be both Tuesday and Wednesday,” Slowinski said. “What happens is most of the exhibitors donate items to be auctioned. The money is then sent to local FFA chapters to go toward scholarships or jackets or things like that. They can use it however they see fit.”

A grand-prize giveaway drawing will be available for those who would like to participate, where a 50” zero-turn Toro Myride Mower, model number 75755, will be gifted to the winner. Plevna Implement sponsors this prize.

If people need lodging during the show, Sonesta Select at 111 W. Washington Center Road is the Fort Wayne Farm Show host hotel and is located fewer than 10 minutes from the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. Complimentary breakfast, parking and Wi-Fi will be provided.

The Sonesta Select offers a special farm show rate of $109 plus tax for Fort Wayne Farm Show affiliates during their stay. Rooms are limited and sell out fast. To reserve a room, call 1-260-471-8522 and mention the 2022 Fort Wayne Farm Show.
